There is nothing quite like spending a day at the beach with your furriest friend, and watching them run around off-leash in the sea and sand is priceless. As one of a very limited number of off-leash dog beaches in Los Angeles County, Rosie’s is a favorite of both the two and four-legged variety.

Rosie’s is perfect because, in addition to beach romps and watching your pup go crazy with joy of being off the leash, there are plenty of great spots to grab a drink and a bite after a day spent in the sun and sand. Just because the restaurants focus on making your dog feel at home, don’t think for a second that food is an afterthought. Below are our picks for post-beach eats.

Plunge - a lot of "dog-friendly" joints actually mean that your dog can sit on the sidewalk smooshed up against a gate. This is not the case at Plunge; located on the top of an apartment building and offering an insane view of the ocean, it's one of the few places where pups can join their owners inside. Yeah, it's pretty cool.
